The Blue Beetle Gallery
Golden Age Covers

Welcom to the Blue Beetle Gallery of Golden Age Covers; to my knowledg, the most complete collection of Fox Features Comics Blue Beetle and Mystery Men comic book cover images on the the internet. This collection is by no means a complete. Missing covers are marked with plain, black and white place-keeper images giving the title and issue number. If you know of a source for these missing images, please contact the page designer.

File names are based on believed issue numbers as best as could be determined by the web page author. Because not all comics in this series had issue numbers on the cover, so there may be inaccuracies. Thumbnail images are displayed in chronological order as determined from believed issue numbers. If you are familiar with these series and know of an inaccuracy, please contact the page designer

Most images are from web sources, collected over a period of several months. Images are from covers of varied condition, digitized with varied scanners and digitizers, producing image files of varied size and quality. Retouching and digital enhancement has been performed on some images.

Fox
Published by Fox Features

Note: issues 17-26 were published by Holyoke Comics.

Real Hit Comics was a repackaged Blue Beetle #25. See above
Fox Features headliner made frequent appearances in other title-characters' magazines.
The 128-page Double Comics is a repackaging of two previous Fox Features Comics.

The Human Fly, as shown on the cover of his own comic, wears a familiar costume. The real Blue Beetle operates under his real name in the stories inside.

I have not had the oportunity to examine Roly Poly Comics, and I don't believe it to contain any Blue Beetle material, but it is of interest because the cover is a swipe of Blue Beetle #1 (compare left and right images).
This is not so much a publication as a piece of licensed merchandise. It is a set of tattoo sheets featuring the Blue Beetle, the Green Mask, and other Fox Features characters.
Charlton
Published by Charlton Comics
Blue Beetle is not mentioned on this Nature Boy cover, but appears inside.
The two known post-Charlton appearances of the character. Americomics #3, and DC Cosmic Card #1.
Some comic readers may only know of the character from the Cosmic Card.

If you have other golden age Blue Beetle cover images that you are willing to contribute to this gallery, please contact Robert J. Bowman at bbowman@htonline.com.
